SUNDERLAND have swooped for Gothenburg’s teenage hotshot David Moberg Karlsson in a £1.5m deal.
The 19-year-old Swede becomes the latest import in manager Paolo Di Canio’s squad.
Karlsson
could be joined at the Stadium of Light by Udinese striker Matej Vydra,
who scored 22 goals for Watford during a prolific loan spell at
Vicarage Road last season.
The Black Cats are looking to thrash out a similar arrangement with the Serie A club for the 21-year-old Czech.
Karlsson
has been bought as one for the future and is likely to start life at
Sunderland in the development squad alongside El-Hadji Ba, who recently
joined the club from Le Havre.
South Korean forward Ji Dong-Won, meanwhile, is heading for the exit door.
The 22-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Augsburg in Germany is set to join the Bundesliga side on a permanent basis for around £3m
