The ruling party plans to hold a convention soon.
The members of the Special National Convention Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party are currently in a crucial meeting at the party’s secretariat, in Abuja.
The meeting is being attended by the committee chairman, Jerry Gana; Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom; Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and other members.
The Committee and the National Working Committee of the ruling party led by its national chairman, Bamanga Tukur, have been at loggerheads over some issues.
Though President Goodluck Jonathan waded into the controversy last week, the issues seem unresolved.
