Imo State police command has commenced
a manhunt for buyers of babies who were sold by the proprietress,
‘Madam one thousand,’ of Ahamefula Motherless Babies Home, where 17
pregnant teenagers were rescued recently.
According
to a reliable police source, about three of the babies whose ages range
from one year to two months, who were sold outside the state had been
rescued.
The source said two of the buyers have also been arrested and are currently assisting the police in their investigation, while one of them, a woman, lives abroad.
According to the source the police authorities have also declared the fleeing ‘Madam one thousand’ owner of the home, wanted.
When contacted, police spokesperson, Joy Elemoko, confirmed the story, saying investigation was still on. “The woman has been declared wanted,” she added.
