ABOVE: Jose Mourinho feels Robert Lewandoski is the man to lead Chelsea's frontline
He will even make a personal trip to Germany to talk Lewandowski and persuade him
JOSE MOURINHO wants Chelsea to make a major statement by signing Robert Lewandowksi.
Dortmund insist their star man is not for sale, having rejected Batern Munich's attempts to sign him this summer. But Mourinho refuses to concede the hitman is off limits - and will test the water with a £20m bid for a player who will be available on a free transfer next summer.
He will even make a personal trip to Germany to talk Lewandowski and persuade him he will be a major part of his plans for his new era back in charge of Chelsea.
Manchester United are also keen on signing the 24-year-old, and have also not been put off by what had appeared to have been a certain transfer to Bundesliga rivals Bayern.
