Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Franco Baldini as their new technical director.
The Italian, who was Fabio Capello's right-hand man when he was England coach, left Roma earlier this month and was widely expected to be joining Andre Villas-Boas' backroom staff at White Hart Lane.
Baldini also worked as sporting director of Real Madrid and brings huge experience to the relatively young staff Villas-Boas has been relying on.
"Franco is extremely well respected in the industry, possessing an extensive knowledge of players around the world," said chairman Daniel Levy on the club's official website.
"He will strengthen our football management team, particularly in the field of recruitment, working closely with Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood across all levels on the playing side."
