The Ndigbo Unity Forum has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to fulfil his promises to the people of the South East.
In a statement by its President, Augustine Chukwudum, which was made available to Saturday PUNCH, the group asked for the provision of loan for farmers to revive the oil palm produce the region was known for.
They asked the Federal Government to invest in tourism to put the region on the world map.
“Places like the Ogbunike Cave, Ogba Cave (Unubi) both in Anambra State; Oguta wonder lake in Imo, Ukwa Green River in Abia State and Ubulu tourist forest in Ebonyi State to mention a few, are good tourist sites that should be harnessed,” the statement said.
The forum is also asking for the construction of a road network and expansion of existing federal and state roads, while stating that the Onitsha Port should be made to function adequately.
They also want an international airport built at Oba Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
