ABOVE: Catherine Wells-Burr was smothered to death with a pillow by her boyfriend Rafal Nowak
He’s scum. He’s betrayed us so badly.
Anna and Rafal were both devious, callous, sickening people. They should
never be allowed out into society again.
Mrs Wells-Burr
A MAN has been convicted of killing his girlfriend and burning her body to claim her life insurance.
Rafal Nowak, 31, suffocated Catherine Wells-Burr with a pillow last September.
Nowak,
his Polish mistress Anna Lagwinowicz, 32, and her uncle Tadevsz
Dmytryszyn, 38, then drove her body to a nearby dogging spot before
setting her car alight.
They
did it to claim the £123,000 life insurance policy the business analyst
had taken out and a half share of the £137,000 home.
The trio posted a fake profile on a sex dating site to make it look like Catherine, of Chard, Som, had a secret lover.
They all denied murder but were convicted at Bristol Crown Court.
Catherine’s
parents Jayne and Philip, who had treated Nowak as a son, and her
sister Leanne wept when the verdicts were announced.
Mrs
Wells-Burr said: “He’s scum. He’s betrayed us so badly. Anna and Rafal
were both devious, callous, sickening people. They should never be
allowed out into society again. They are just too evil.”
All three will be sentenced on Monday.
