CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN has paved the way for a move to Liverpool after rejecting the advances of Bayer Leverkusen.
Leverkusen were keen to lure him to Holland while Zenit St Petersburg have also shown an interest.
But Eriksen has shown both of them the cold shoulder, fuelling speculation that he's holding out on for a move to Anfield.
Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots told Dutch newspaper Voetbal International: "Christian will only leave Ajax on sporting grounds, that's his main criteria."“Christian will only leave Ajax on sporting grounds, that's his main criteria”Eriksen's agent
Ajax want to sell the midfielder now, otherwise he can walk out and leave for nothing when his contract runs out.
Eriksen is in talks with a number of clubs but their boss Frank de Boer hinted Liverpool were leading the race to sign him.
"I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.
"But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can't stop him."
