ABOVE: PSG, Arsenal and Tottenham are all keen on Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye
Toon boss Alan Pardew is desperate to
keep Cabaye, who also interests Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and Tottenham
boss Andre Villas-Boas.
PSG are poised to launch a £15million swoop for Newcastle star Yohan Cabaye.
The Magpies midfielder, 27, is at the top of
the mega-rich French champions’ summer shopping list following two
impressive seasons in the Premier League.
And
the bad news for the Toon Army is that PSG are confident of landing him
– aware that the Gallic ace would jump at the chance of a big-money
switch.
Although
content at St James Park, Cabaye, who has three years left on his
contract, reckons joining one of Europe’s elite clubs would guarantee
him an integral part in France’s World Cup challenge in 12 months’ time.
And
with PSG’s main priority next term the Champions League, the lure of a
four-year deal worth an estimated £120,000-a-week would be irresistible.
Toon
boss Alan Pardew is desperate to keep Cabaye, who also interests
Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas.
But
neither north London club is willing to compete with loaded PSG.An
offer of around £15m is expected to force the Geordies to do business
over playmaker Cabaye, who cost Newcastle just £4.5m from Lille in July
2011.
One hitch is the uncertainty surrounding PSG’s managerial position.
Real are keen to replace Chelsea-bound coach Jose Mourinho with the Paris club’s Carlo Ancelotti.
