QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar
JULIO CESAR could be on his way to Arsenal after admitting he wants to stay in the Premier League.
The QPR keeper claims talks have started with a number of top-flight clubs.
Relegated
Rangers know Cesar will go in the summer and are looking at a back-up
for Robert Green, who was bought then swiftly dropped by former boss
Mark Hughes.
Rangers
need to trim their hefty wage bill and Cesar, 33, is on a reported
£100,000 a week, which could become a stumbling block for the Gunners.
But manager Arsene Wenger needs a top keeper and might have to break the bank to get one.
Brazilian Cesar wants to play at the highest level before his home nation hosts the World Cup.
Cesar said: “I want to stay playing in England. I enjoy London and love the Premier League.
“There are talks with teams but they are not definitive.
“I won’t name them as it would not be ethical. I am still under contract at QPR.”
