ENGLAND captain Alastair Cook reckons we still haven’t seen the best of fast bowler James Anderson.
The ‘Burnley Express’ became England’s leading
one-day wicket taker when he dismissed Mitchell Marsh for five on the
way to victory over the Aussies.
It was his 235th wicket, putting him one ahead of Darren Gough.
“He’s a great bowler,” said Cook.
“He just keeps getting better and better.”
Ian Bell and Aussie captain George Bailey joined in the praise.
“The first ten overs were important for us and Jimmy and Stuart Broad were outstanding,” said Bell.
“It’s great to celebrate Jimmy’s record with a win.”
Bailey added: “Jimmy Anderson is so skilful. Jimmy has the record he has because of those skills.
“Jimmy didn’t give us anything. He was very, very accurate and that’s testament to the bowler that he is.”
