ABOVE: Vincent Kompany is being chased by Barcelona and now Monaco
MANCHESTER CITY are in serious danger of losing their inspirational captain Vincent Kompany to Monaco.
The Belgian hard-man, 27, has been linked with a
shock move to Barcelona - but now big-spending Monaco are poised to
gatecrash the party with a £26m bid, according to French newspaper l'Equipe.
Money is no issue for the French club, who have already splashed £60m on James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho.
Manuel Pellegrini will be eager not to lose the defensive rock and one of his first tasks as City boss will be to nail down Kompany's future.
Kompany joined City for £6m in 2008 and was a tower of strength at the back in the 2011-12 Premier League win.
