Fulham kicked off their pre-season Costa Rica tour with a 3-0 friendly win against FC Cartagines on Sunday night.
Costa Rica captain Bryan Ruiz enjoyed a goalscoring outing in his homeland as the Cottagers ran out comfortable winners at the National Stadium in San Jose.
Dimitar Berbatov tapped in Pajtim Kasami's cross after 35 minutes and made it 2-0 five minutes before half-time from the penalty spot after John Arne Riise was fouled.
And Ruiz finished from close range after being set up by strike partner Hugo Rodallega in the 73rd minute, with the home fans happy to applaud a goal against their side.
Martin Jol used 22 players in the match, giving as many of his squad a run-out as possible. Fulham return to the same venue on Wednesday to face Ruiz's old club, LD Alajuelense.
