Speaking to the press in Australia, the 41-year-old revealed his desire to see Bale in a United shirt.
He said: "We've still got a lot of quality within the Manchester United team at this present time, but the manager is always looking to strengthen.
"People like Gareth Bale – in terms of what he's done, the player he has become over the years.
"He would be a fantastic player to join Manchester United."
Moyes recently revealed his plans to strengthen his squad, saying he needs to learn how to balance the team with the long list of fixtures they'll be involved in this season.“Tottenham star Gareth Bale has been linked to move to the Premier League champs recently”
He said: "It’s new for me having to manage a big squad and keep them happy, as Sir Alex did.
"But the amount of games you have to play here is large so players do get their games.
The Tottenham ace remains their biggest target despite the increasingly-desperate Spanish giants admitting last week they could be forced to wait 12 months to get him.
