MONACO want to take Newcastle midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa back to France.

The newly-promoted Ligue 1 club are ready to pay whatever it takes to get their man.

Bankrolled by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, Monaco are intent on rediscovering former glories, however much it costs.

They have spent £60m on Porto duo Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez and and are set to blow Chelsea and Manchester City out of the water with a £51m swoop for Atletico Madrid hitman Radamel Falcao.

Ben Arfa is next on their list, according to reports in France, and Newcastle’s £18m valuation will not put them off.

Nor will his injury record, which has restricted him to fewer than 60 games since arriving from Marseilles three years ago.

Toon chief Alan Pardew is determined to keep his top stars and after it emerged that PSG were interested in Yohan Cabaye, he received assurances from the boardroom that no-one has to be sold.
