TEAM NEWS: Man City lose Silva as Zabaleta set for Swansea return

MANCHESTER CITY playmaker David Silva is suspended for the New Year's Day trip to Swansea in the Premier League after accumulating five bookings.

Top scorer Sergio Aguero (calf) also remains on the sidelines along with striker Stevan Jovetic and defenders Martin Demichelis and Micah Richards (all hamstring).
Goalkeeper Joe Hart will play despite five stitches in a wound under his left eye and right-back Pablo Zabaleta, rested against Crystal Palace on Saturday after recent injury, is fit.
The news of the stretched backline comes after the news the high spending team are not planning to bring in any fresh faces in the January transfer window, with boss Manuel Pellegrini happy his side are strong enough to land the title.
Provisional squad: Hart, Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Nastasic, Boyata, Kolarov, Clichy, Nasri, Milner, Navas, Toure, Fernandinho, Garcia, Rodwell, Dzeko, Negredo, Guidetti.
