ROY Hodgson yesterday begged England fans not to shout anti-Irish insults during tonight’s match at Wembley.

The England boss, 65, emailed ticket holders urging them to “respect our opponents and welcome them”.

He spoke amid growing fears among FA bosses that anti-IRA chants could spark violence.

The last time the teams faced each other, in Dublin 18 years ago, the match was abandoned in the first half, after English hooligans ripped out seats and threw them on the pitch.
