CHELSEA and Liverpool have turned down bids from Barcelona for star centre-backs David Luiz and Daniel Agger.

The Spanish giants bid £15m for Agger and around £35m for Luiz yesterday after they missed out on PSG ace Thiago Silva.
But both clubs have rejected the offers put on the table.
Signing a central defender is a priority for Barca and they are expected to re-emerge with improved bids.

Chelsea can offer Luiz Champions League football but Liverpool have less of a hold on Agger.
The Reds finished seventh last season - meaning they missed out on the Europa League - and the 28-year-old Denmark international is keen on playing at the top level as he nears the peak of his career.
However, he will not follow in the foot-steps of Luis Suarez and push for a move away from Anfield.
