Arik 
Airline has signed a contract to acquire three CRJ1000 Next Geneneration
 aircraft and four Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners with a Canadian 
firm, bombardier Aerospace.
The contract according 
to the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria is valued at $297 million  
based on the list price of the CRJ1000 NextGen and Q400 NextGen 
aircraft.
Arik Air currently operates four CRJ900 aircraft 
and two Q400 NextGen aircraft so with the additional Q400, the company 
would be operating six of it type.
Bombardier is the world’s 
only manufacturer of both planes and trains with it headquarter in 
Montréal, Canada. The company is evolving mobility worldwide by 
answering the call for more efficient, sustainable and enjoyable 
transportation everywhere.  It revenues is placed at $16.8 billion for 
the fiscal year ended December 31, 2012.
Arik Air spokesman, 
Mr Ola Banji confirmed the deal to Daily Trust. He said the contract was
 signed on Wednesday in Paris between Arik Air and the Bombardier 
Aerospace. He could not confirm the expected date of delivery of the 
aircraft.
