It was previously reported that star singer, Wizkid has been dealing with a controversy involving UNILAG students who claimed to pay him to perform at a show and he failed to appear.
According to the students, he allegedly collected N500,000 for the show. The issue led to his near-detention at the Zone 2 command Onikan of the Nigerian Police force.
Recent investigations revealed that Wizkid was invited alongside his manager Godwin Tom for questioning by the police after he failed to appear at UNILAG’s Concert of Life which took place at the institution’s Sports Centre on May 21st. He was at the station for a few hours and was only allowed to leave after he’d written a statement and bailed by his lawyer.
He was asked to report to the station next week.
Observers say, these Unilag students may have been scammed by an imposter and this is what Wizkid thinks too.
He recently shared the tweet below on the incident;
And who can blame him? Rumors have it that the singer gets paid between 2-3 Million Naira for a show so the story that he agreed to perform for N500, 000 seems implausible.
