JOSE MOURINHO: I WANT WAYNE ROONEY

ABOVE: Rooney is causing rifts between Moyes and Mourinho

JOSE MOURINHO has cranked up the pressure on David Moyes by admitting: I'd love to have Wayne Rooney at Chelsea

As revealed in Starsport yesterday, Chelsea are in pole position to sign the wantaway Manchester United striker.
United manager Moyes has been desperate to make clear his club have no intention of selling the unsettled England star.
But Blues boss Mourinho confirmed his interest in the forward, saying: "You know me. It is not my character to speak to you with a little bit of hypocrisy.
"I always say what I think and, being fast and direct, I like him very much but I can say no more than that.
"He's a Manchester United player." Mourinho was speaking in Bangkok, where Chelsea are on tour.
United are also kicking off their build-up to the new season in the Thai capital.
And after Mourinho went public with his admiration for Rooney - who was sent home from United's tour with a hamstring injury - Moyes told the Special One to back off.
Asked Moyes said: "Unless I was speaking double Dutch, I have said, 'Wayne Rooney is not for sale'.
"People are entitled to talk about good players.
"I am being asked plenty about Wayne so I am sure Jose will be getting asked about lots of players as well.
"Wayne is a Manchester United player and will remain that."
