Tottenham on brink of beating Liverpool to Roberto Soldado signing

TOTTENHAM are on the brink of beating Liverpool to signing Roberto Soldado.

The Reds had hoped to gatecrash Spurs' advances and bring Soldado to Anfield.
But Spurs are believed to have tied up the deal by agreeing to pay his full buyout clause of £26m.
Spanish international Soldado, 28, scored 30 goals in 46 games for Valencia last season.
Spurs have already signed midfielder Paulinho and winger Nacer Chadli.

The signing of Soldado would mean Spurs have spent over £50m this transfer window.
Antonio Sese, a former director at Valencia, tweeted: "They tell me that Roberto Soldado will be transferred shortly.
"They (Tottenham) will pay the release clause. Great management."
Liverpool had hoped to swoop as striker Luis Suarez's future remains uncertain.
