French Open continued with a straight-sets demolition of the dangerous
South African Kevin Anderson.
The world No 5 Spaniard was at his clinical best as he dispatched the No 23 seed 6-3 6-1 6-1 in one hour and 45 minutes.
The 31-year-old is the first player through to the last eight at Roland Garros and Ferrer's journey to the quarter-final stage has seen him win all 12 sets he has contested so far.
At Court Suzanne Lenglen on Sunday, Ferrer faced just two break points as he opened up a two set lead in just over an hour.
The dominant resident of Valencia offered his opponent few crumbs, giving away a total of just seven unforced errors during the opening two sets.
And a bewildered Anderson, who stands 11 inches taller than his busy opponent, could do little to stem the tide in the third set either.
The 27-year-old from Johannesburg lost 14 of the last 17 games and won just 28% of points on his second serve as Ferrer cruised to a comfortable triumph.
He now faces an all-Spanish encounter in the next round - the winner of the tie involving Tommy Robredo and Nicolas Almagro who are seeded 32 and 11 respectively.
