JAY BOTHROYD is set to leave QPR on a free transfer after invoking a relegation clause in his contract.

Striker Bothroyd had been keen to stay at Rangers.

But after discussions with the club, the 31-year-old – who has a year left on his Loftus Road contract – has opted for a fresh challenge.

He has attracted interest from Galatasaray, Olympiakos and Fenerbahce. But Bothroyd, who made his one appearance for England as a substitute against France in November 2010, would prefer to stay in the UK.
